EDUCATING

the next generation of Guatemalans

Bringing Education

Education is a fundamental element to overcome poverty and hopelessness, which is key for a successful future.  Fe Viva is dedicated to provide quality faith based education to students who would otherwise have no opportunity to receive accredited schooling.  Centro Educativa Fe Viva de Guatemala is our government accredited ‘colegio’ where students receive university entry preparation courses funded through a scholarship program.  $1000 USD covers a full year of courses, including registration, tuition, textbooks, uniforms, and some basic family assistance.  Helping the family with basic assistance as needed, releases the student to be able to study instead of working full time to help put food on the table.

TEACHING LEADERS

The foundation of Fe Viva began with training pastors and leaders in Guatemala. The Fe Viva Bible College is a unique school that offers both the biblical training, and the hands-on experience students need to grow in the calling of God in their life. As they learn the truth of God’s Word through practical, Spirit-filled teaching, they receive ample opportunity to apply what they have learned in various areas of ministry.

Guatemala Volcano Disaster Relief Fund

Our GOAL - 1000 donors of $100 each

Please help us reach our goal.  We spoke to survivors the day after Volcan Fuego (the Fire Volcano) exploded.  People were sent running from their homes as a huge pyroclastic cloud of ash and rivers of molten lava rushed down the side of the volcano toward their villages!  Many we spoke to are in shock, having witnessed their family and friends succumb to the super-heated ash that destroyed their villages!  People arrived at the church shelter where we brought supplies (mattresses, sheets, clothes, shoes, hygiene packs, school supplies and stuffs, etc.).

The recovery will be long and difficult for these ones.  They have nothing to return to.  Their villages are gone!  Their livelihoods are gone!  Their families are lost!  Please remember them in prayer these coming weeks and months as they try to piece together their future.

Fe Viva is committed to help rebuild homes, install the smokeless stoves, restore education for the kids, etc., as funds come in to help.

Please give generously to restore hope and future to these people.

Our goal is simple, we need 1000 donors to give $100 to reach $100,000.00 which will rebuild homes, supply clean water, etc.

May the Lord bless you!

CONFESSIONS OF A MISSIONARY - LISTEN AND READ THE LATEST FROM GUATEMALA

Below is an article from ‘The Conversation newspaper in Antigua. It expresses what most of us are fearing. Pray for truth to arise and healing to begin. Pray for financial support to continue, it is greatly needed.

“In our interviews with victims of the Fuego eruption and the volunteers helping them, several people have complained that the Guatemalan government is reporting information they know to be inaccurate.

It estimates that 12,823 people were evacuated and 3,613 people placed in shelters. Weeks after the eruption, the official death toll remains at 110. Local residents insist it is much higher.

“The government gives these numbers to look like it’s in control,” one rescue volunteer told us. “We know they are lies. Thousands died and will never be found.”

Since the eruption, rain has regularly fallen across Guatemala, hardening the volcanic ash into something resembling concrete. Unless the government sends dozens of workers with heavy equipment, bodies will likely remain entombed where they fell.”
