Casa Esperanza - Feb. 2, 2010
We have had one of our young ladies return home. Alicia decided last year after she turned 18 that she wanted wanted to return to Jutiapa and live with her brother and sister. After much prayer and counsil, she left. She was just three months of completing her grade 7 year. We all felt her decision was not the Lords will, but as many of you know when your children become young adults, they dont always make the right decisions. It is one of the most difficult times as a parent to let go and trust that the Lord is in control. She would phone us once in a while and we got the sence that things were not what she had expected. We were in Jutiapa for a court hearing and we were able to meet with her and hear her heart. As things would turn out we were needing help at Feviva in the kitchen and we gave Alicia the invitation to return if she was willing to work, and return to school and complete her studies. She is currently working fultime at Feviva and attending Saturday school with Valentina who Just turned 18. After much prayer and discussion Valentina desires to stay with us to complete her studies, and we were also able to give her fultime work as well. Both Alicia and Valentina will complete gade 7 and 8 in a year and a half, and then take grade 9 which is their graduating year. They are both learning about finaces and learning to provide what they need and take responsability for their lives, with our help...We are hoping to have a seperate living space for them soon as they both are on a different schedule then the rest of the children in Casa Esperanza.
Sonja has had another problem with an ingrown toenail. Last October she had her big toe nail removed as she had been suffering from a bad infection. We have been blessed to host a medical team here from the States. Three of the doctors worked together to remove a part of Sonjas nail on the same toe. It was very painful and hard time for her as she remembered the last time. It took about 6 needles to freeze her toe properly before thy could work on it. Please pray for the Lord to ytouch her body and bring his peace and healing.
Little Kevin had a accident last week on the play ground. His foot slipped through the bars on the swing and his ankle was fractured. He has a cast from his foot to his knee, and is still able to get around. He needs to keep the cast on for 5 weeks. Please pray that he heals quickly and properly.
Anna is doing well an enjoying school. She is currently in grade and already is working hard at her studies. Anna has begun running with my daughter Jenea Monday-Friday in the evening after dinner. she enjoys the time to visit and she is learning to take care of her body. Anna struggles at times with her temper, and is learning what to do when she gets angry. Please pray for Anna to recieve more of the Fathers love, and that the Lord would continue to heal her heart.
Marina is also doing well and is currently studing in grade 6. Marina is very studios and takes her studies seriously. She also has been running in the evenings. Marina has also began typing studies, which is needed to continue with her studies. Marina is going through that time of change in her life, from a girl to a young women. Pray for Marina to be able to understand more of Gods heart for her, and for the Lord to be her strength.
Mynor is doing well and maybe not the most excited about being back in school. Mynor finds school hard and would rather play soccor all day. He is in grade 4, and so far things are going well. Mynor enjoys helping in the workshop, hiking , swimming ect... Please pray for this school year for Mynor that he would begin to enjoy learning and that he would apply himself.
