Marcelino came to us about nine months ago, with his sister Anna. He has since requested that he be returned to his mother. We began to process his request and prepare the papers needed for this change. We had the understanding that he was not under protection, and that it would be fine for him to return home and to be a help to his mother as he has 5 younger sibblings other than Anna. We proceeded to bring him to court and have his mother regain custody of him. During the hearing the Judge discovered some information that did not allow for Marcelino's return to his Mother. The Judge asked to speak to Marcelino alone, and asked him where he would like to live. Much to Marcelino's surprise he told the judge that he would like to go to Casa Samuel as they have more older boys there, and here at Casa Esperanza we have lots of little ones. The Judge granted his request, and he is now living at Casa Samuel, and studying at night school. We will give him some time to adjust and then go to visit him. The Lord works in amazing ways, we continue to trust him as his ways are higher than ours...
